The cluster of research & technological development activities are:WP2:
Characterization and stabilization of by-products from EU industries: Select, characterize chemically and microbiologically, and to stabilize citrus by-products/waste as well as wheat bran;
WP3:
Natural ingredients for new foods: pre-treatment of by-products and waste and recovery and production of natural molecules: pre-treat stabilized by-products/waste to obtain semisolid fruit paste, crude extracts of antimicrobial agents, antioxidants and pre biotic compounds along with DF;
WP4:
New Foods and feed formulation and production : generate new foods through high pressure homogenization and extrusion of tailored combinations of fruit paste, ingredients and bran along with a citrus waste-based feed for fish and
WP5:
Innovative protocols and economic evaluation: addresses to develop protocols describing and assessing all processes employed, the ingredients and the new foods and the feed produced as well as the economical, environmental, and legislative/standard issues related to them.
